The Nuclear Launch and Defense Facility is a Cybran structure provides nearly all of the Cybran's needs for a nuclear launch and deterrent structure.

Heavily reliant on resources to maintain, the facility may manually construct counter nukes to defend the surrounding area from incoming ICBMs, which are launched automatically once one is detected.

It may also build more expensive and time consuming nuclear missiles of its own but even they have to be manually targeted. Like all other WMDs, launched missiles penetrate energy shields but may be shot down from enemy counter-nukes.

The NLDF will automatically launch tactical missiles at any enemy that gets into range.

NotesEdit

  • Anti-tactical missiles may/may not require anti-nuke research (more info on this?).
  • No matter what has been researched the facility will launch tactical missiles at any detected units within range.
  • Scout for enemy anti-nuke and launch nuclear missiles appropriately so each expensive investment is not wasted.

TipsEdit

  • While there is no repeat build order, clicking on the build Nuke/Anti-Nuke will queue up multiple orders.
  • Since the building does not change its name or appearance when upgraded. Enemies will not know the facility is nuclear capable until a warhead is launched. The UEF and Illuminate must build buildings specifically for launching nuclear strikes or defending against them.
  • Be cautious when launching a nuclear missile, while enemy air units are over or near the launcher. If the missile makes contact with any enemy air units the missile will explode, destroying the launcher and all surrounding buildings/units.
  • With the Infinite War DLC. The Cybrans have the ability to build Boomerang Nuke Redirectors which can redirect nukes back at the launching facility. Redirected nukes cannot be stopped by anti-nukes. Scout frequently and aim missile launches carefully to avoid very costly mistakes, or yet build them in remote locations to reduce these risks.
